Investment decisions flow through the Kao family's control of the listed entity. Chairman Kao Kuo-lun, son of founder Kao Ying-shih, holds the senior-most board position. Joint venture partnerships originate from the company's industrial supply chain and R&D network. The partnership with Showa Denko K.K., for example, came through materials science collaboration in the electronics supply chain. Philanthropy is housed in two foundations: the Eternal Materials Foundation and the Kao Ying-Shih Chinese Culture Collection Educational Foundation. The latter maintains a namesake cultural collection and a museum in Kaohsiung, preserving Chinese artworks and artifacts. These entities are legally separate from the listed operating company but are named for the founder and controlled by the family.

There is no stated exclusion policy. However, the company's observable investment pattern is tightly bound to its core chemicals and materials manufacturing franchise. Sectors without an industrial nexus — consumer internet, enterprise software, financial services — have not appeared in any disclosed deal activity. The investment posture is de facto confined to industrial and materials-adjacent assets.
