Fife Pension Fund

The Fife Pension Fund was established in 2015 as the pension scheme for Fife Council employees under the UK Local Government Pension Scheme framework. It is administered by Fife Council with David Alexander serving as chair of the Pensions Committee and Elaine Muir responsible for finance implementation. The fund allocates across real estate, infrastructure and select public equities. Confirmed real estate positions include the Octopus Healthcare Fund, Industrial Property Investment Fund, Unite UK Student Accommodation Fund and Airport Industrial Fund. Infrastructure and credit commitments include Core Infrastructure Fund I, GIP Aquarius Fund, Meridiam Infrastructure Europe II and CVC Credit Partners European Direct Lending Fund III. Public equity holdings include positions in Shopify, Nu Holdings and Brambles. Allocations remain concentrated in the United Kingdom with additional exposure to Europe and North America. The fund maintains relationships with Northern Trust as global custodian, LPFI Limited as investment advisor, Hymans Robertson as actuary and Audit Scotland as external auditor. It participates in the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum, Principles for Responsible Investment and Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association. Committee meetings occurred in September 2025 and December 2025 to review performance and governance. The fund operates as a statutory public pension scheme rather than a discretionary private vehicle, with investment decisions shaped by actuarial requirements and collaborative panels such as the Joint Investment Strategy Panel with Lothian Pension Fund.
