Flat6Labs was founded by Sawari Ventures, an Egypt-based venture capital firm. Operational leadership sits with regional principals managing country-specific programs. Key executives include Yehia Houry, Tarek Mounir, Sherief Hassan, Nahla Ibrahim, and Shady Atef. Investment decisions for seed-stage capital deployed through acceleration programs are typically made by in-country program teams in coordination with Flat6Labs headquarters, rather than a single centralized investment committee.

Flat6Labs sources startups almost exclusively through its own accelerator programs. It runs 39 structured programs — ranging from pre-acceleration to seed-stage — across 14 countries. Each program issues an open call for applications, which funnels founders into a curriculum of mentorship, training, and eventual funding. This programmatic sourcing model means deal flow is intrinsically tied to the firm’s geographic and programmatic partnerships with governments, corporates, and development finance institutions.

Flat6Labs operates as a hybrid: it is both a multi-country accelerator operator and an early-stage investor. The firm runs its own seed programs while also designing and managing programs for third parties such as governments and corporates. It makes equity investments in startups graduating from its programs through its affiliated early-stage vehicle, F6 Ventures. The holding entity, F6 Group, combines the accelerator operations with dedicated investment capital.

Flat6Labs focuses on pre-seed and seed stages. Its programs are structured to support founders from concept validation through to growth stages, with the equity investment occurring at the seed stage upon program graduation. The firm does not publicly pursue later-stage growth equity or pre-IPO rounds.

Flat6Labs is active in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Iraq, the UAE, Palestine, and Pakistan. It invests in startups originating from these countries, typically through country-specific programs. The firm does not invest outside the Middle East and Africa region.

Flat6Labs partnered with ADQ, one of the MENA region's largest holding companies, to launch the Flat6Labs Ignite Program. This initiative provides seed and early-stage funding to UAE-based startups, combining Flat6Labs' accelerator operating model with ADQ's strategic capital and market access.

Flat6Labs primarily invests directly through its affiliated vehicle F6 Ventures and its own programs. While it partners extensively with governments, corporates, and development finance institutions to design and fund accelerator programs, its investment activity tends to be proprietary rather than structured as co-investments alongside third-party GPs in the traditional sense.
