Richard Li Tzar-kai serves as Founder and Chairman, maintaining ultimate control through Pacific Century Group. Richard Li's wealth originated from the founding of STAR TV, which he sold to News Corporation in the mid-1990s, and from the 2000 tech boom-era restructuring and partial monetization of PCCW. He is the younger son of Li Ka-shing, whose Cheung Kong and Hutchison Whampoa conglomerates built one of Asia's largest family fortunes (per public record).
