Global Predictions

In March 2024 the SEC charged Global Predictions with making false and misleading claims about its use of artificial intelligence. The firm had referred to itself as the 'first regulated AI financial advisor' and described its risk forecasts as expert AI-driven analysis. The SEC found these statements to be materially false and misleading, and the firm agreed to a cease-and-desist order, a censure, and a $175,000 civil penalty (per the SEC, 2024).

Global Predictions offers a platform called PortfolioPilot, which provides portfolio analytics and a macro risk-scoring feature it labels the Economic Weather Index. The platform aggregates user holdings and assigns forward-looking risk scores based on economic scenarios. Post-settlement, the firm's marketing language has been adjusted to reflect regulatory constraints on AI-related claims.
