GlobalLogic

Hitachi acquired GlobalLogic in 2021 for approximately $9.6 billion (per Hitachi, 2021), folding it into Hitachi's Social Innovation Business. GlobalLogic now operates as a distinct subsidiary within Hitachi, providing the digital product engineering layer that supports Hitachi's industrial, energy, and infrastructure software initiatives while continuing to serve third-party commercial clients.

GlobalLogic builds and modernizes software products, platforms, and embedded systems. Its work spans cloud-native applications, AI/ML model integration, embedded hardware and IoT solutions, and user-experience design. Published client examples include an AI-assisted cloud-native bill-payment platform for a financial services firm, Agile and AI toolchain deployment for shipbuilding, and Pixellot’s enterprise sports-video platform.

GlobalLogic does not operate as a fund manager, venture capital firm, or family office. It is a professional services and product engineering company. We have not identified any dedicated investment vehicles, co-investment funds, or direct venture activities under the GlobalLogic name.

GlobalLogic uses a lab-based, embedded-team model that places engineers directly inside client product organizations, supported by onshore, nearshore, and offshore delivery centers. The firm structures engagements across long-term strategic partnerships and discrete project-based deployments, with a stated focus on “zero distance” to client teams rather than a transactional outsourcing model.

GlobalLogic states a commitment to environmental stewardship and diversity, but we have not identified a separate philanthropic foundation, impact-investing vehicle, or dedicated corporate-social-responsibility fund under the GlobalLogic brand. Its social and environmental initiatives appear integrated into Hitachi's broader Social Innovation mandate rather than operated independently.
