Hankook Capital was established in 1989 as the financial services arm of what became Hankook & Company Group. Cho Hyun-bum, chairman and CEO of the parent, guides its investment decisions alongside the group's operating businesses. The firm mixes venture capital, real estate, and credit strategies. It committed KRW 15 billion to the Edn Investment Management Blind Pool Fund targeting Korean offices, logistics, and data centers. It also backs the STREAM Fund alongside We Ventures to pursue smart energy, electrification, and mobility opportunities. Confirmed positions include stakes in Hanon Systems and Hankook Tire & Technology, both held through the parent group structure. Activity centers on South Korea with additional exposure in Canada via Preciseley Microtechnology Corp. The firm reports 3,165 million USD in assets. It maintains its headquarters in Daejeon and works with service providers including We Ventures since 2021. In 2025 the group continued its vehicle donation program to ChildFund Korea institutions. Ownership remains inside the Hankook & Company Group, with National Pension Service and Hyosung Group appearing as co-shareholders in affiliates. This integrated structure channels capital toward sectors that support the parent's automotive supply chain.
