Henan Investment is a significant shareholder in Cargolux Airlines International, one of Europe's largest all-cargo carriers, alongside the Luxembourg Government. The stake was acquired as part of a bilateral economic cooperation initiative between Henan Province and Luxembourg, reflecting the firm's mandate to anchor strategic infrastructure assets that serve regional logistics and trade ambitions.

Henan Investment operates primarily as a proprietary capital vehicle for the Henan provincial government, deploying state-owned assets and retained earnings. There is no public record of the firm raising blind-pool funds from external institutional limited partners. Co-investment structures, however, appear in its bilateral partnerships, such as the arrangement with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investments.

Energy is the firm's most visible sector, anchored by direct ownership of thermal power plants like Qinbei and Shouyangshan. Recently, the firm has signaled a strategic pivot into green energy through its 2023 partnership with Uzbekistan, indicating an evolving mandate that layers renewable investment onto an existing fossil-fuel base without clear divestment from legacy thermal assets.
