Bobby Jain is founder and chief investment officer, holding final authority over portfolio-manager allocations and risk limits. Jain spent 20 years as co-CIO of Millennium Management alongside Izzy Englander, where he helped build the multi-manager platform to $60 billion in assets (per Bloomberg, 2024). He delegates day-to-day trading authority to roughly 42 portfolio-management teams, each operating within centrally monitored risk parameters.

The firm deploys capital across four strategy verticals: equities long/short, global macro, systematic and quantitative strategies, and credit. Portfolio managers operate market-neutral books with tight gross and net exposure limits. The firm has indicated it will emphasize liquid, exchange-traded markets in its early years before expanding into less liquid credit and private strategies (per Reuters, 2024).

Jain Global raised capital through a traditional commingled hedge fund structure rather than through managed accounts or co-investment vehicles. Institutional investors participate alongside each other in the main fund. The firm has not publicly indicated plans for deal-specific co-investment vehicles, which are more common in private equity than in multi-manager hedge fund platforms.

Jain Global's $5.3 billion in committed capital came from institutional investors including public pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, university endowments, and family offices (per Reuters, July 2024). Bobby Jain contributed founder capital, and the firm attracted backing from several large allocators who had prior relationships with Jain from his Millennium tenure.
