Lorom pursues full vertical integration, controlling the supply chain from drawing copper wire and blending polymer insulation through final assembly, testing and packaging. The company also designs and custom-builds its own key process manufacturing equipment to avoid the constraints of commercially available machinery. Over 50% of Lorom's business is within the automotive market, where it provides standard and complex electrical wire harnesses. The firm also has substantial capabilities in medical device manufacturing, including design failure mode and effects analysis and master validation plans. A third key vertical is professional audio, video and broadcast, where it supplies high-performance cabling systems.

Lorom operates manufacturing campuses in Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Tong Xiang and Chongqing in China, as well as Bhiwadi, India, and Fremont, California. It maintains six regional design centers globally, with additional sales and support offices in Taipei, the United Kingdom, and North Carolina. All sites operate under the same certified quality systems, including ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.

Lorom provides comprehensive aftermarket services to sustain a product throughout its lifecycle. These include repair, refurbishment, replenishment, supply chain management, and reverse logistics. The firm operates globally consistent platforms and processes for these services, with a focus on improving turnaround time and controlling costs.

Lorom has expanded into value-added electronics assembly, including printed circuit board assemblies that range from simple designs to highly complex ones. Supporting technologies include in-house thermoplastic injection molding, automatic screw machining, and a complete design and build capability for tooling. This complements its core cable and wire harness manufacturing.
