Nexus Group

Nexus Group is a fully owned subsidiary of IN Groupe, the French state-backed consortium that produces national identity documents and digital sovereignty infrastructure. IN Groupe acquired Nexus in 2020 to add workforce and IoT identity management to its sovereign-credential portfolio. That means Nexus does not fundraise or deploy third-party capital; it operates as a consolidated subsidiary, generating revenue through government and regulated-industry software contracts.

Nexus sells software licenses and managed-identity services — smart-ID platforms, PKI certificate automation, and physical-access credentialing — to governments, ports, utilities, and construction consortia. It does not raise blind-pool capital, charge management fees on committed LP commitments, or return carried interest to external investors. The economics resemble an enterprise software operating company held inside a sovereign conglomerate, not a private equity fund.

Nexus Group does not disclose a named investment committee, CIO, or managing principal because it does not allocate external capital through a fund structure. Strategic and capital-allocation decisions flow through IN Groupe's corporate hierarchy and are ultimately overseen by the French state as the parent's majority owner.

Based on available sources, Nexus Group operates as a product-development and software-deployment subsidiary, not an investment entity. It has not disclosed participation in direct venture rounds, co-investments alongside GPs, or limited-partner commitments to external funds.

Starting December 2024, ID06 AB — a separate legal entity — became the direct contracting party for ID06 smart cards, previously a Nexus Group product line. The move carves a regulated credentialing business out of the software subsidiary, suggesting IN Groupe is dividing public-works compliance from enterprise-identity licensing.
