Operator Network

The Operator Network (“OpNet”) is a group of C- and SVP-level executives who want to mentor the next generation of entrepreneurs by offering operating advice alongside our personal investment capital. We are high growth technology executives who have founded, scaled and exited world class technology companies. We have lived the ups and downs of startup life and we know the obstacles and opportunities founders face, often before they face them. We are subject matter experts in GTM and G&A who are “on call” to help select founders develop and hone their skills and strategies. We know how hard the journey is, and we believe we owe it to the next generation of entrepreneurs to help. OpNet primarily invests in software companies raising an early round of financing (Seed, Series A-B), where we can provide maximum value with both our experience and our personal capital.

Frequently asked questions

Who runs investment decisions at Operator Network?

The firm operates as a collective of twelve named C-level executives, including Frederic Kerrest and Stacey Epstein. There is no publicly identified single CIO or managing partner — the group's website presents all members as equal participants deploying personal capital alongside mentorship. Investment decisions appear to be made collaboratively by this operator group.

Is Operator Network structured as a single family office or does it operate more like a venture firm?

It functions as a personal-capital syndicate of operators rather than either a family office or a traditional venture firm. The group does not raise institutional blind-pool funds or charge management fees; members invest their own capital in exchange for equity. This structure aligns incentives directly between operators and founders without the typical fund-return timeline pressures.

Does Operator Network participate in fund commitments or only direct deals?

Based on public disclosures, Operator Network appears to make only direct equity investments in portfolio companies. The firm describes its capital as 'personal investment capital' from its member executives and does not reference any fund-of-fund commitments or LP positions in external venture vehicles.

What investment stages does Operator Network typically target?

The firm targets early-stage and seed-stage companies, focusing on founders who are 'raising financing' and 'building a company from the ground up.' The group emphasizes mentorship around go-to-market strategy and G&A functions — capabilities most relevant to pre-revenue or early-revenue stage companies scaling their teams and sales processes.

What is Operator Network's known posture on co-investments alongside external GPs?

Operator Network does not publicly address co-investment policies. Its model as a personal-capital syndicate means individual members may co-invest alongside venture funds they are separately affiliated with, but the group's website provides no guidance on whether it syndicates deals or participates in external-party rounds.
