Mathieu de La Rochefoucauld is President and Managing Partner, leading the investment team alongside Managing Partner Clément Combal and Partner MEA Rémi Prunier. The firm claims a reshaped governance model that gives it independent decision-making speed typical of classic venture firms, despite the Orange Group balance sheet being the sole LP.

The firm acts as a direct investor, writing equity checks into startups across three streams: Global Growth, MEA Growth, and MEA Seed. There is no public evidence of the firm making fund commitments as an LP to external venture managers.

The firm structures three forms of non-monetary support: joint go-to-market partnerships through Orange Business Services, direct procurement opportunities where Orange operating units become customers, and access to technical experts inside the group covering connectivity, cloud, blockchain, and IoT.

Global Growth targets mature European and US software startups raising Series B or later, with tickets up to €20 million in sectors like AI, cybersecurity, fintech, and B2B SaaS. MEA Growth focuses on scale-ups in the Middle East and Africa from Series A onwards, investing across a broader range of sectors including edtech and e-commerce.

Orange Ventures is a wholly owned corporate venture capital arm of the Orange Group, one of the world's largest telecom operators. The firm invests the Orange Group's balance sheet capital but operates with its own investment committee, while giving portfolio companies privileged access to the group's commercial and technical resources.

The MEA Seed initiative invests in Seed-stage tech startups across Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia. The fund targets companies that have raised under €1 million in total equity funding, aiming to support early-stage entrepreneurs in Orange's MEA footprint.

The portfolio spans B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, fintech, and consumer tech. Known holdings include Dataiku, the AI platform; Morphisec, an endpoint security firm; digital bank Monzo; and AI-driven media analysis provider Moments Lab, in which Orange Ventures participated in a $24 million round in June 2025.
