Panorama Education was founded in 2012 after Aaron Feuer, then a Yale undergraduate, won a college business-plan competition with a student-feedback survey tool piloted in Los Angeles schools. The company has since evolved from survey administration into a central operating system for K-12 student support, stitching together academic performance, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional data across more than 25,000 schools in all fifty states. Its revenue comes from district-level software subscriptions rather than per-pupil licensing, reflecting a land-and-expand approach that targets central-office adoption. The platform spans four product lines: Panorama Student Success for MTSS (multi-tiered system of supports) and intervention tracking, Panorama Surveys and Engagement for climate and social-emotional learning measurement, Panorama Pathways for graduation and career-readiness monitoring, and Panorama Solara, an AI layer that ingests district-specific resources to generate intervention recommendations. Deployment data is private, but named district clients include Boston Public Schools, Durham Public Schools, Portland Public Schools, Holt Public Schools, and Mehlville School District. The company operates nationally with a headquarters in Boston; additional office locations are not publicly disclosed. Panorama does not report total deployment or headcount, and it has not raised public funding rounds since a 2015 Series B led by Owl Ventures and Emerson Collective, which brought its total disclosed venture backing to roughly $32 million. The management structure beyond Feuer is not publicly listed. In May 2024, Panorama released a district AI-readiness benchmarking tool as part of its Solara rollout, signaling a product push toward making generative AI operational inside school-system workflows. The structural differentiator is its role as a data middleware layer that sits between fragmented student-information systems and the educators who need to act on that data. Panorama is not a content provider or a learning management system; it aggregates existing district data to standardize intervention protocols across school sites. That architecture makes it difficult for a district to replace once MTSS workflows are built on top of it, giving the firm a moat that is more akin to an enterprise SaaS platform than a supplemental classroom tool.
