PensPlan Solidarity Fund
PensPlan Solidarity Fund was established in 1997 by the Autonomous Region of Trentino-South Tyrol. The Autonomous Region holds 98 percent of the service company PensPlan Centrum S.p.A., with the Provinces of Bolzano and Trento each holding 1 percent. The fund deploys capital through closed-end AIFs focused on real estate, energy efficiency, tourism infrastructure and venture capital. Confirmed vehicles include Euregio+ Valore Alto Adige-Südtirol AIF, Housing Sociale Trentino AIF, Euregio+ Energy Alto Adige-Südtirol AIF and Euregio+ Alpine Venture Capital SICAF. All activity remains inside the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy. Co-investors include the European Investment Fund in the Alpine Growth Investment Platform. The fund reports $7.078 billion in assets. It maintains a foundation, Fondazione Alice Onlus, that has made targeted grants in health-related projects. In December 2024 the fund sponsored the BOClassic Silvesterlauf running event in Bolzano. Governance ties to the Autonomous Region of Trentino-South Tyrol create a direct public-sector mandate that shapes investment selection toward regional urban regeneration and social-housing assets.
