Community reinvestment is embedded in the mutual charter. Associates average 10,000 volunteer hours per year, and 74 employees have served on the boards of 54 local nonprofit organizations within the bank's lending region.

PeoplesBank secured naming rights to Hartford's 16,000-seat multipurpose venue, branding it PeoplesBank Arena. The deal extends the bank's name into a major community asset and reinforces its commitment to the Connecticut market.
