Peter G. Peterson established the foundation in 2008 after co-founding Blackstone. Michael A. Peterson, his son, serves as chairman and CEO. The entity received initial capital from Blackstone equity and maintains a grantmaking mandate focused on long-term fiscal balance. Peterson and advisory board members including Robert Rubin and Barry Diller.
