Overview

Founded in 2000 by sole administrator Veronica Mariani, Premiaweb initially built and operated proprietary digital platforms targeting Italian leisure and life events. Between 2016 and 2018, the holding exited three of those assets: wedding-planning platform Matrimonio.it to US-based WeddingWire Inc. in 2017, and rural-tourism classifieds Agriturismo.it and Countryholidays.com to Feries Srl (part of Immobiliare.it Group) in 2016, later sold to a German group in 2018. Since 2015, Premiaweb has functioned as an angel investment holding, deploying capital into early-stage Italian startups with a digital-first model. Current portfolio companies span wine-tourism SaaS (Divinea.com, held since 2019), outdoor-experience marketplaces (Freedome, held since 2021), high-end artisanal goods (Mirta.com, held since 2022), collective payments for schools (GrowishPay, held since 2019), and biotech (Diamante, held since 2022). The firm has also cycled through digital-marketing positions, including an exit from Instilla in 2019 and a hold of Checkbonus from 2015 to 2021. Geographic focus is almost entirely domestic Italian. Mariani runs the portfolio as its single decision-maker, drawing on her experience as a CEO who scaled and sold digital properties. The firm does not disclose AUM or team size. Adjacent activities include Mariani's membership in Angels4Women, an angel network supporting female entrepreneurship, and mentorship with YoungWomenNetwork. In 2022, Premiaweb added three new positions — Diamante, Mirta.com, and Babacomarket.com — deepening its exposure to biotech, luxury marketplaces, and e-grocery. Premiaweb's structural edge is its operator-to-investor continuity: Mariani exited three sizable internet businesses before becoming an angel, and the holding offers portfolio companies advisory services that mirror the playbook she used internally — business planning, team building, and fundraising strategy. That operator heritage, not institutional LP capital, shapes the firm's concentrated, Italy-centric portfolio.
