Progressive Technology Project (PTP) is an organization based in North St. Paul, United States, operating as an institutional endowment/foundation entity focused on people-controlled technology for social change. Rather than pursuing traditional investment activity, PTP organizes resistance to oppressive corporate technologies through political education, movement building, and the creation of technology that serves community organizations. The organization strengthens grassroots organizing groups to help them achieve their goals more effectively and efficiently. PTP provides people-controlled technology, trains social justice groups on strategic technology use, and delivers political education on the relationship between technology and social justice. Its work is grounded in supporting social justice and community organizations, with an emphasis on BIPOC-led environmental justice groups and movement-aligned technology. PTP maintains a small team including Executive Director Alice Aguilar, Technology Systems Director Jamie McClelland, and Director of Resource Mobilization Natalie Brenner.
