The parent company’s corporate lending relationships give the investment team early visibility into succession-driven and growth-stage opportunities that independent funds cannot access without prior banking ties. The holding company’s overall push into regional revitalization and its overseas subsidiary further widen origination beyond pure banking referrals.

It is a direct private equity subsidiary of a publicly traded regional bank holding company rather than a traditional limited-partner fund. QR Investment deploys the group’s own capital and does not manage external third-party commitments. This captive structure avoids fund-life pressure but keeps investment activity fully consolidated under CCI Group’s balance sheet.

QR Investment’s mandate spans seed, early-stage, start-up, expansion, late-stage, growth, succession, and turnaround investments. The firm can write early-stage venture checks as well as execute full buyouts and corporate carve-outs, making it a flexible tool for CCI Group’s regional small- and mid-cap coverage strategy.

Both QR Investment and Hokkoku Bank — Ishikawa’s primary regional bank — sit under the same holding company, CCI Group. The bank provides traditional lending and deposit services while QR Investment handles private equity and venture capital. The holding structure allows coordinated financing solutions that combine senior debt from the bank with equity from QR Investment.

QR Investment’s disclosed activities concentrate on domestic Japanese companies, but its parent’s creation of CCI Cross-Border in March 2025 points to a deliberate effort to originate and co-invest in overseas opportunities. Details of any completed cross-border transactions have not been publicly released.
