Quzilla Capital

Quzilla operates two strategies. The first acquires Japanese SMEs facing ownership succession and modernizes them through AI deployment to drive margin expansion and premium exits. The second targets SaaS companies undergoing structural repricing as agentic AI shifts their economics, restructuring them for cash generation and residual asset value. Both strategies are executed from the firm's Tokyo base.

All known portfolio companies — including Kanei Brewery, Urban Building Systems, Benzaiten, PETOKOTO, and several undisclosed holdings in facilities management, funeral services, and mobility — are based in Japan. The firm's website and public materials make no reference to investments outside the country.

Founder and CEO Shinji Takeuchi runs the firm. He previously advised on cross-border M&A and restructurings at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley, co-founded advisory firm Crosspoint Advisors, and led a control investment in a digital company he later exited. The firm lists senior advisors Akio Katsuragi and Takaaki Hoda but does not identify additional internal investment committee members.

Quzilla Capital's founder Shinji Takeuchi co-founded Crosspoint Advisors in 2010 with former Lehman Brothers colleagues. Senior advisor Akio Katsuragi is Crosspoint's CEO. The two firms share historical leadership ties, but Quzilla operates as a separate private equity asset manager and does not describe Crosspoint as a parent or affiliate in its current materials.

Quzilla invests directly in companies through its own funds, most recently Quzilla Fund II and Fund III, which held final closings as disclosed on its website. There is no public indication the firm participates as a limited partner in third-party managed funds.
