RDI develops camera-based vibration analysis software branded as Motion Amplification. The platform processes high-speed video to measure micro-scale movement on industrial machinery and structures, then overlays amplified motion onto the original footage. Engineers use the output to identify root causes of vibration problems — looseness, resonance, imbalance, cracking — without attaching physical sensors or shutting down equipment.

Confirmed users include General Electric across multiple power-generation divisions, NASA's Stennis Space Center for rocket-test-stand diagnostics, and U.S. Navy vessels performing shipboard pump and motor analysis. The technology also appears in water treatment plants, steel mills, and petrochemical refineries where conventional wired vibration monitoring is impractical or cost-prohibitive.

Traditional vibration analysis requires permanently mounted accelerometers or periodic handheld sensor routes, each sensor measuring a single point. RDI's video-based approach captures hundreds of thousands of points across the entire field of view simultaneously — bolts, welds, brackets, and structural members that would never justify a dedicated sensor. The output is a visual video overlay that non-specialist operators can interpret immediately.

Falfurrias Capital Partners holds a majority stake following their July 2023 growth equity investment. Founder Jeff Hay retained a significant minority position and continues leading the company as CEO. Falfurrias partner Chip Johnson joined the board of directors as part of the transaction.

The company's patent portfolio centers on phase-based motion amplification — the algorithmic technique that measures sub-pixel displacement frame by frame and reconstructs it as visible motion. This patent family covers the core method of extracting vibration data from video regardless of camera hardware, which limits the ability of larger industrial-automation platforms to replicate the technology without licensing.
