Thacker transitioned from CIO and President to Special Advisor. The endowment also supports the Baker Institute for Public Policy and the Kinder Institute for Urban Research. Rice Management Company operates as the dedicated investment office for a single university rather than a multi-client platform. Governance flows through a board chaired by Bart Broadman, with direct reporting to the university president Reginald DesRoches.
