Managing Partner Derrick Lee has led the firm's Asia Pacific investment activities since its 1984 inception and has led or co-led investments in more than 40 companies. He is supported by Senior Partner Kevin Chan, who focuses on Mainland China and Hong Kong, and Partner/CFO Hoe Boon Kwee, who administers financial operations.

SEAVI Advent is the independent Asian associate of Advent International, which was founded by the late Peter A. Brooke. The relationship gives SEAVI Advent's portfolio companies access to Advent International's global resources and exit networks while the firm operates as a standalone partnership based in Singapore.

SEAVI Advent typically acts as the lead investor and takes an active board role in portfolio companies. For buyout and control transactions, the firm is open to syndicating with other investors when the cheque size exceeds its typical US$10–US$25 million growth-stage range.

The firm invests across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Mainland China. It maintains offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

The firm has facilitated IPOs on the SEHK, SGX, SZSE, NYSE, and NASDAQ. It also pursues trade sales and has experience attracting international trade buyers, which it says can generate a strategic premium when the acquisition establishes a foothold for the buyer in a new Asian territory.

SEAVI Advent announced the first close of its latest fund, SEAVI Advent Equity VIII. The firm fully exited its holdings in Xuan Wu Cloud Technology as part of its ongoing portfolio realizations (per firm website).

The firm publicly targets business services, specialty retailing, healthcare services, chemicals, telecoms/IT, environmental engineering, and clean energy. Sectors explicitly outside this mandate — such as heavy infrastructure or natural resource extraction — are not mentioned and do not appear in its disclosed portfolio.
