Sejong Technopark was formed in 2019 as a regional innovation center by the Sejong Special Self-Governing City. President Yang Hyun-bong oversees the organization, which functions as a government-backed growth platform charged with accelerating early-stage to expansion-stage startups and small-to-medium enterprises within the Sejong jurisdiction. The Technopark operates multiple physical assets, including its main building in Jochiwon-eup, the Future Convergence Industry Center, and the AI Convergence Startup Incubation Center, providing infrastructure to resident companies. The entity deploys capital and operational support across early-stage strategies, including seed and startup phases, through to expansion and late-stage ventures. Its primary vehicle is the Sejong Tech Valley development in Jiphyeon-dong, co-developed with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, which houses over two dozen resident companies and functions as the Technopark's operational center. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups provides regulatory and financial backing at the national level. Confirmed local collaborators include the Sejong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which partners on startup and venture ecosystem task forces alongside the Tenant Company Council, a coordination body for the 26+ resident firms on site. Support flows from the municipal and national government, not from a disclosed pool of financial AUM. The Technopark’s reach is concentrated in Sejong-si, South Korea, with no additional offices publicized. In a notable structural parallel, the architecture mirrors a regional innovation cluster rather than a traditional asset manager — linking government land development, SME ministry backing, and physical incubation facilities under a single operational roof.
