SIMONA AMERICA

SIMONA AMERICA is the North American operating subsidiary of SIMONA AG, a publicly listed German manufacturer of thermoplastic sheets, pipes, and fittings (FWB: SIM). It is an industrial operating business, not a family office or investment vehicle. The parent company was founded in 1857 and runs polymer-compounding and extrusion plants in Europe, Asia, and the United States.

The company's material grades target semiconductor cleanrooms, chemical-corrosion equipment, aircraft interior components, marine cabinetry, medical-device manufacturing, water-treatment infrastructure, and outdoor architectural applications. Its product lines are broken into market-grade categories — Medical, Non-Metallic, and Semicon — alongside application-specific brands such as BOATBOARD for marine and Polygrain for exterior signage and playground equipment.

SIMONA AMERICA draws from parent-company-produced polymer stock rather than reselling commodity sheet. It offers proprietary grades — including CRP-1 Type I PVC, ECTFE 901, and USP Class VI PP-H — with regulatory qualifications already established. The company fields application engineers who guide material selection for specific regulated environments, which is a different commercial model from a general-line plastics distributor.

Both. The company sells sheet and rod stock to tank fabricators, sign shops, millwork shops, and marine OEMs, who then cut, weld, and thermoform the material into finished products. It also supplies end-users directly when the application requires specification-level support, such as a semiconductor owner-operator purchasing ECTFE sheet for wet-bench construction.

SIMONA AMERICA's Archbald, Pennsylvania facility primarily functions as a distribution, sales, and technical-support hub. Large-scale polymer compounding and sheet extrusion for the North American market occurs at the parent group's plants, with the US operation holding and distributing finished stock shapes.
