SoftBank Corp. occasionally makes direct minority investments in late-stage technology companies, particularly those with enterprise service synergies. However, the majority of the group's startup investing is conducted through the SoftBank Vision Fund and other investment subsidiaries of SoftBank Group Corp.

PayPay is a joint venture between SoftBank Corp. and Yahoo Japan launched in 2018. It has grown to dominate Japan's QR-code payment market with over 60 million registered users. The platform serves as SoftBank Corp.'s primary consumer fintech asset and a driver of digital engagement across the group's ecosystem.
