The firm's mandate covers Latin America — specifically the Pacific Alliance countries (Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile) plus Brazil — and the United States Hispanic market. SouthLight maintains offices in Mexico City, Lima and Bogotá to support this footprint.

SouthLight invests directly into portfolio companies. Its model — which it calls "Partnership Capital" — treats investees as partners in designing a value-creation plan. The firm has not disclosed any fund-of-funds or LP commitments to external GPs.

The firm relies on 14 years of regional operating history and on-the-ground presence in Mexico, Peru and Colombia. SouthLight highlights its local language capability and cultural fluency, arguing that its embedded position in the Pacific Alliance and Brazil gives it access to middle-market targets before global competitors.

SouthLight has not disclosed any separate philanthropic foundation. The firm does publish a sustainability framework aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and integrates ESG criteria across its investment process, but this sits within the asset manager rather than in an independent entity.
