Susan G. Komen is a non-profit organization founded in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker, fulfilling a promise to her dying sister, Susan, to end breast cancer. For over 40 years, the organization has been a global movement, funding groundbreaking research, community health initiatives, patient navigation, advocacy, and patient care services in the U.S. and more than 30 countries, with a mission to save lives by meeting critical needs and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
