Its services include e-discovery, digital forensics, managed document review, and legal translation — operational and technology support that law firms and corporate legal departments use to run litigation and investigations.

TLS is a division of TransPerfect, the privately held language-services and technology company founded in 1992. TransPerfect founder Phil Shawe has been sole CEO since 2018, following the resolution of a long-running ownership dispute. TLS operates as one business unit inside that parent, with no separate legal entity or external investors.

TLS states that its clients include every Am Law 200 and Global 100 law firm, as well as the majority of Fortune 500 corporate legal departments. Its practice-group list covers antitrust, construction disputes, data privacy, financial services, intellectual property, and pharma and biotech investigations.

It sells both. TLS offers proprietary AI-driven analytics and early-case-assessment technology, but it delivers them as part of managed-service engagements — forensic collections, hosted review, and staffing — rather than as a standalone self-serve SaaS product.

Because it is part of TransPerfect, the world's largest language-services provider, TLS draws on a global network of legally specialized, native-level linguists without subcontracting. This allows it to manage multi-language e-discovery and regulatory investigations through a single point of contact across more than 100 office locations.
