VELUX FONDEN and Villum Fonden are Denmark-based — the former concentrates on scientific research, social welfare, and active aging, while the latter funds technical and scientific research. The family maintains separate boards and staff across each entity.

VKRF operates primarily as a direct grantmaker, though Altss research identifies limited fund-of-funds exposures through vehicles such as Partners Capital Condor Fund II and Morgan Creek Partners II. These commitments appear to be mission-aligned — Partners Capital manages pools for endowments and foundations with sustainability overlays — but they represent a small fraction of total deployment relative to the grant program.
