Vive X

The program operates under HTC's corporate structure, with senior leadership historically including HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang and Vive X leadership such as Marc Metis, who has served as Global Head. Investment committees and day-to-day decision-making authority are not publicly detailed.

Vive X sources through its accelerator cohorts, which operate applications, as well as through HTC's network in VR/AR hardware and enterprise channels. The program's global accelerator locations provide regional deal-sourcing pipelines, and HTC's position in the VR ecosystem gives it visibility into early-stage companies building on the Vive platform or adjacent software stacks.

Vive X makes direct equity investments into startups. It does not operate as a fund-of-funds, and there are no public reports of Vive X committing to external venture funds.

Vive X was created as a $100 million initiative by HTC to build the ecosystem around its Vive virtual reality platform. In 2018, it was formalized as a separate subsidiary, Vive X Limited. The program provides portfolio companies with strategic benefits including distribution through HTC's VR app store and enterprise sales channels.
