Hansjörg Wyss created the Wyss Foundation in 1998 after building Synthes into a major medical device company. The foundation channels resources into environmental protection and medical research through grants and property ownership. Molly McUsic serves as president. Asset classes include timberland, vineyards, wildlife reserves and commercial real estate.
