Comfort Capital Management

Shawn Comfort, the founder and CIO, makes all investment decisions. Comfort previously co-managed the Columbia Convertible Securities Fund at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, an institutional asset manager, where he spent roughly 20 years focused on convertibles and capital-structure arbitrage. The office has not disclosed any additional investment staff.

The firm's mandate covers distressed and special-situation credit, structured equity, convertible bonds, and niche real estate bridge lending. Comfort's experience managing convertible-bond portfolios at Columbia gives the office a particular lens on capital-structure trades — preferred equity, structured notes, and broken converts — that sit between pure debt and pure equity.
