Dr. Peter Rutishauser is the sole principal and makes all investment decisions personally. He founded Equatis in 1989 and operates it from Frauenfeld, Switzerland. His background includes strategy consulting at Bain & Company and executive search at Egon Zehnder before a three-decade career as an owner-operator of mid-sized companies.

Equatis sources deals almost exclusively through Rutishauser's personal boardroom and C-suite network in Switzerland and Germany. The firm's origination strategy is deeply tied to his reputation as a hands-on generalist who can personally step in as CEO or Chairman during a turnaround, which appeals directly to family-owned businesses and corporate groups divesting non-core subsidiaries.
