Inovar Previdência

Inovar Previdência was established in 1994 as Abrilprev, the exclusive pension vehicle for employees of the Abril publishing and media group. In a structural break from its single-sponsor origin, the fund separated from Grupo Abril to become an open, multi-employer private pension institution serving companies, individuals, and their families. Today it operates as a non-profit, administering personalized retirement plans without charging administration fees, a model designed to broaden access to Brazil’s private pension system. Inovar allocates capital across four distinct portfolios. Its Fixed Income and Variable Income portfolios concentrate on domestic Brazilian assets, while a dedicated International Investment mandate spans global markets. A Structured and Private Equity portfolio targets illiquid opportunities within Brazil. The fund’s commitment to responsible investment is documented by its PRI signatory status, obtained in 2021, and its participation in the Carbon Disclosure Project for environmental transparency. Inovar’s governance rests with a Deliberative Council chaired by founder and FGV professor Fábio Gallo, who also holds a board seat at Brazilian parking operator Estapar. Director-Superintendent Cléber Diniz Nicolav and Financial Director Francisco Coimbra Carneiro Pereira round out the named leadership. The fund holds membership in Abrapp, the national association of closed private pension entities, and ICSS, the certifying institute for social security professionals. What distinguishes Inovar’s architecture is its trajectory from captive corporate fund to independent, non-fee-charging non-profit. This zero-administration-fee structure is uncommon among Brazilian pension entities and directly reflects the mission of democratizing pension access that the fund articulates.
