MediaTek Ventures

Deal flow originates primarily from MediaTek's own engineering and platform roadmaps — the unit targets technologies that can be integrated into or accelerated by MediaTek's chipset lines. The parent's relationships with device manufacturers, including Google, NVIDIA, and Deutsche Telekom, also generate co-development and co-investment leads.

It is a corporate venture capital unit fully embedded within MediaTek's strategic operations. Unlike financial VCs, it evaluates opportunities against the parent's silicon and platform roadmap, and portfolio companies gain direct paths to integration across MediaTek's Dimensity, Genio, and Filogic product families.

The unit invests from early-stage seed and startup rounds through to expansion and late-stage venture. This range allows it to back foundational technology startups as well as more mature companies that can be integrated into MediaTek's existing consumer and automotive semiconductor platforms.

Investments concentrate on semiconductors, edge AI, IoT, automotive technology, and connectivity — sectors in which the parent company already operates. Emerging capabilities in custom ASICs for data centers and AI inference represent newer investment corridors.

The venture unit operates alongside two vertically focused subsidiaries — Airoha Technology for fixed broadband and advanced AIoT, and Richtek Technology for analog ICs — but does not consolidate them. The MediaTek Foundation, established in 2001, is a separate philanthropic vehicle for technology education and social care in Taiwan.
