The Medich family traces its Australian presence to 1924 when Maté Medich began cane farming in Queensland. Roy Medich OAM and his son Anthony formed the family office in 2011 after decades of property development through Medich Property Group and Medich Corporation. The office continues the family’s shift from cinemas and hotels into diversified holdings while linking investment returns to philanthropic activity via the Medich Foundation. Medich Capital deploys equity into listed and private companies with emphasis on agriculture and property. Medich Corporation executes direct real-estate projects including The Maltings adaptive reuse in Mittagong and Preston Market mixed-use redevelopment in Melbourne. The portfolio also contains residential estates at Radford Park and Murray’s Rise in the Hunter Valley plus Mount Pleasant Wines. Allocations remain concentrated in Oceania with selective exposure to international equities. The firm structures most holdings through direct co-investments and SPVs rather than third-party funds. The office employs a small internal team led by Anthony Medich. It maintains its primary base in Bondi, Sydney and is establishing a London presence. Adjacent vehicles include the Medich Foundation and board roles at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Salvation Army. In 2021 the family acquired Mount Pleasant Wines and formed the Hunter Premium Beef joint venture under Belford Land Corporation. The Medich structure separates the philanthropic foundation from the investment company while keeping both under family control. Roy Medich serves as chairman of the foundation and Anthony Medich oversees the capital allocation arms. This governance model preserves operational continuity across property, farming and equity holdings without external managers.
