Anders Buchardt, son of Norwegian real estate developer Arthur Buchardt, holds the controlling stake and serves as Chairman. He also leads AB Invest and Agate Utvikling, the direct development arm that builds and manages the family's property portfolio. The group operates as a single-family enterprise with no external institutional shareholders in its core holding entities.

NEMI Forsikring generates underwriting premiums that create a pool of investable float. That capital, alongside reinvested earnings from completed developments, funds Agate Utvikling's project pipeline without requiring external LP commitments. The insurance company is a regulated Norwegian entity, providing structural permanence that a pure holding company would lack.

The portfolio spans Norwegian destination resorts — Hafjell, Kvitfjell, and Oppdal ski operations — and hospitality properties including the Fýri Resort in Hemsedal, the Hoxton Oslo hotel, and the Wood Hotel Bodø. The group also holds commercial buildings in Oslo at Fredrik Selmers vei 2 and Østensjøveien 43. The landmark Mjøstårnet mixed-use tower in Brumunddal was the tallest mass-timber building globally at completion.

The group's disclosed investments are concentrated entirely within Norway, covering mountain resort regions, Oslo's commercial property market, and secondary cities such as Bodø and Brumunddal. No international real estate positions have been publicly identified.

Anders Buchardt and Petter Stordalen are co-investors in PASAB, a joint venture that has partnered on hotel developments including the Wood Hotel Bodø. Stordalen built Nordic Choice Hotels into one of Scandinavia's largest hospitality groups; the Buchardt-Stordalen collaboration combines the families' respective development and hotel-operating expertise.

Emil Paaske serves as CEO of Agate Utvikling AS, the operational development company within the group. Paaske oversees project execution across the resort and urban portfolios, while Anders Buchardt maintains strategic direction and board-level oversight through AB Invest and NEMI Forsikring.

The group uses a combination of NEMI Forsikring's investment portfolio returns, retained development profits, and the family's own capital. Because NEMI is a regulated insurance company with ongoing premium income, the group is not dependent on selling assets or raising third-party funds to finance construction starts. This permanent-capital posture allows it to pursue multi-year resort expansions without exit-driven timelines.
