The sourcing model is entirely captive to École Polytechnique's ecosystem. The fund explicitly invests only in startups founded by one or more alumni, emerging from the school's laboratories, or incubated inside the institution. This turns the alumni network into a de facto proprietary pipeline that commercial competitors cannot replicate, giving the fund an early look at deeptech projects before they reach the broader venture market.

The firm follows the scientific disciplines that define École Polytechnique's excellence. Observed positions cover synthetic biology, quantum sensing, robotics, climate and energy transition, enterprise AI, and maritime data — essentially the full hard-tech and deeptech frontier where the school's laboratories and alumni have significant technical advantage.

All capital is sourced from alumni of École Polytechnique. The fund does not accept institutional commitments. This creates a unique LP base where investors are simultaneously the gatekeepers of deal flow and the technical experts who diligence the technologies, a structure that aligns interests but also raises questions about governance and independence.
