Ted Schwartz established Schwartz Capital Group in Chicago in 1996 following the sale of his interest in APAC Customer Services. The firm manages multi-generational family capital through a permanent balance sheet that supports long-term holdings rather than fixed-term funds. Strategy centers on three platforms. Strand Equity Partners, an affiliate, makes growth-equity investments in consumer brands. OppFi, a portfolio company, operates an AI-driven lending platform that has facilitated more than $2.3 billion in loans. Schwartz Capital Real Estate partners with operators on multi-family assets in markets with favorable employment trends. Additional opportunistic equity mandates pursue special situations. Geographic reach spans North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, South America and Oceania. The team remains lean, with named partners Ted Schwartz, Tracy Schwartz Ward, Todd Schwartz and David Vennettilli. Adjacent vehicles include the Schwartz Ward Family Foundation and StandStrong. Todd Schwartz also serves as CEO of OppFi, which employs more than 600 professionals and trades on the NYSE under ticker OPFI. No material operational events have been recorded in the last 24 months. A structural distinction lies in the combination of family-office permanence with operating-company ownership. The same principals who control Schwartz Capital Group also run OppFi and maintain board seats at affiliated vehicles, creating direct governance overlap between the investment office and its largest operating asset.
