Jeffrey Presley established SouthWorth Capital Family Office in Memphis in 1998 after building experience owning and lending to small and midsize companies. Presley serves as Founder and Chairman. His son Clay Presley is CEO and previously co-founded the 901 Fund NIL collective. SouthWorth executes buyouts and growth investments through platform companies that acquire add-ons while preserving local brands. Asset classes include private equity, real estate, private credit and equipment leasing. Confirmed positions include Eastport Holdings in advertising, Fremont-Wright in engineering services, River Horse Logistics, American Furniture Manufacturing, Ascension Property Services and Brightpoint Auto Body. The firm has partnered with Capitala Group on Fremont-Wright and with H.I.G. Capital on Classic Air. Activity centers on North America with headquarters in Memphis and portfolio operations across the southern and central United States. The office maintains a team of investment, operating and finance professionals. Additional vehicles include the 901 Fund and Merchants Capital Real Estate. In January 2026 Lee Harkavy joined as Senior Vice President of M&A. In the same period Brad Silver joined to expand healthcare initiatives and Kendal Fioresi was promoted to Vice President. SouthWorth participates in the Greater Memphis Chamber, Axial and the UHNW Institute. SouthWorth structures investments as direct platforms rather than fund commitments. Each platform maintains its own management while SouthWorth supplies capital allocation, M&A execution and shared back-office functions. This architecture allows the family to retain control over deployment decisions and operating oversight without external limited partners.
