Managing Partner John H. Hahn-Petersen leads the investment committee alongside Partner Jens B. Hahn-Petersen. Day-to-day sourcing and execution are handled by the partnership group with support from an in-house operating team.

Via Equity focuses on succession- and transition-driven transactions in family-owned Nordic and DACH companies. The firm maintains direct relationships with retiring founders, second-generation owners, and corporate parents divesting non-core subsidiaries. This origination strategy reduces reliance on competitive auction processes.

Via Equity is structured as a private equity asset manager raising commingled, closed-end funds from institutional limited partners. While the Hahn-Petersen family provides a significant GP commitment, the firm is not a family office and manages external capital alongside partner co-investment.

The firm targets control buyouts, management buy-ins, management buyouts, public-to-private transactions, and corporate spin-offs. It does not pursue minority growth equity, venture capital, or distressed debt strategies, focusing exclusively on profitable lower-mid-market companies.
