The Ehrnrooth family built Virala Group as an industrial holding vehicle focused on long-term ownership. Alexander Ehrnrooth serves as CEO while Albert Ehrnrooth chairs the board. The firm traces its operational approach to family industrial assets that predate the current structure by more than twenty-five years. Virala Group allocates across public equities, private equity, real estate, infrastructure and private credit. It executes direct co-investments, SPVs and fund commitments. Confirmed positions include Ahlstrom Oyj, Fiskars Oyj Abp, YIT Oyj, Betolar Oyj and Enersense International Oy. The firm has partnered with Ahlström Capital on Nordic industrial assets and with Bain Capital on the take-private of Ahlstrom-Munksjö. Geographic exposure spans Europe, North America, Asia and South America. The office maintains a New York presence at 250 West 55th Street. December 2025 reporting showed measured portfolio companies delivered a net impact rate of +24 percent versus the Helsinki Stock Exchange main list average of +1 percent. Virala Group supports the Ella & Georg Ehrnrooth Foundation, the G.J. Ehrnrooth Family Foundation and the Louise & Göran Ehrnrooth Foundation.
