Overview

Robert Wieland established Wieland Capital in 2004 following the sale of ESPE. The firm manages capital generated by that transaction for subsequent generations of the Wieland family. It operates exclusively from Munich and invests its own balance sheet. The office targets established mid-sized companies in the DACH region through buyouts, management buy-ins and succession situations. It also participates in selected growth financings and venture capital rounds. Robert Wieland serves as founder and managing director. Franck Godet joined in 2007 and Melissa Simon joined in 2023. The office holds membership in the Bundesverband Beteiligungskapital. No additional offices or adjacent philanthropic vehicles appear in public records. Wieland Capital structures investments as direct equity positions alongside founders and management. It offers management buy-in capital and maintains no fixed fund life or external LP commitments. This permanent-capital model distinguishes its holding periods from typical private-equity fund cycles.
