Woodsford Consulting traces its origins to 1992 when Yves Bonavero established the first vehicle in the basement of his London home. The firm was formalised in 1996 and has remained under family ownership since. Capital originated from Bonavero’s executive role at ED&F Man between 1987 and 1996 together with subsequent operating businesses. The office allocates across residential and commercial real estate, litigation finance and select private credit. Holdings include Dom Development, Poland’s largest listed housebuilder, and TradeBridge, a UK-headquartered fintech lender that has completed over $3bn in transactions. Additional positions cover Spanish residential platforms Valma Vista and Valmadora, Dutch residential assets through Woodsford Woning, and aircraft leasing via Branaire Global. Activity spans Europe, with core exposure in the United Kingdom and Poland, plus selective deployment in Asia through TradeBridge offices in Singapore. The London team numbers 12 professionals. Adjacent vehicles include Woodsford Group, founded in 2010 for collective redress, and Woodsford Capital Management, the Singapore-registered manager of a systematic ETF strategy. In 2024 the firm incorporated Valmadora to expand its Madrid residential portfolio. Philanthropic structures comprise the A B Charitable Trust, established in 1990, and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at Oxford University, endowed in 2015. Governance rests on a partnership model between family principals and operating executives. Yves Bonavero serves as Chairman while sons Olivier and Philippe Bonavero hold directorships and oversee related trusts.
