Zamil Group traces its roots to the early twentieth century when Sheikh Abdullah Alhamd Al Zamil built a trading business in Bahrain before expanding into Saudi Arabia. The family office continues to manage a portfolio of operating companies and property assets that reflect that commercial foundation. Investment activity spans direct co-investments, SPVs, private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate. Confirmed holdings include Abunayyan Holding and ADES Holding with the Public Investment Fund. Geographic reach covers the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. The office also operates an offshore fleet and multiple commercial and residential properties in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. No public headcount or AUM figure exists. The firm maintains Zamil Group Philanthropy and holds membership in the Family Business Council Gulf, where it received a Succession Award, and YPO through Basma Al Zamil. In 2022 the group supported student participation in the ISEF science fair and partnered on a voluntary carbon market initiative. Ownership remains within the founding family with no external managers or listed vehicles. This closed structure allows direct control over operating companies and real assets while preserving succession arrangements that have already been recognized by regional family-business networks.
