Abu Issa Holding traces its start to the early 1990s when the late Abdulrahim Abu Issa opened Blue Salon. The firm expanded through Highland department stores and ZAD, one of Qatar's early FMCG distributors. Operations later added Abu Issa Marketing & Distribution to handle perfumes, cosmetics, food and hospitality lines across the Middle East. The portfolio mixes direct ownership of retail outlets with distribution agreements for brands including Kellogg, Ferrero, L'Oréal Kiehl's and Tory Burch. Asset classes include real estate in The Pearl-Qatar and Jouri compounds, an industrial logistics park, and stakes in hospitality and facilities management. Geographic reach centers on Qatar with earlier store locations in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Turkey. Confirmed positions include joint ventures with Salam International Investment Limited for Techno Blue electronics and with Al-Futtaim for Orient insurance. The firm maintains two offices in Doha and Lusail plus a portfolio of mixed-use properties. Ashraf Abu Issa holds board seats at Palestine Investment Fund, Salam Bounian, Meeza and Amman Holding Company. In March 2023 FTC Qatar, an engineering subsidiary, opened new headquarters to support GCC work. Ashraf Abu Issa participates in YPO Qatar, the Family Business Network and the Qatari Businessmen Association. Ownership remains within the Abu Issa family with active operating-company governance rather than a pure fund structure. Board roles and joint-venture partnerships supply deal flow while the firm avoids external fund commitments in favor of direct control of retail and logistics businesses.
