The three co-founders — Katia Yakovleva, John Bonten and Axel Bard Bringéus — each invest individually from the shared SpotiAngels deal flow. There is no central investment committee or fund vehicle; the collective pools sourcing, diligence, and brand, but each principal writes their own checks.

SpotiAngels is a collective of individual angel investors, not a structured venture fund. The founders invest their own capital directly into startups and can also syndicate larger amounts within the SpotiAngels network, but external limited partners are not part of the model.

Each founder typically writes checks of up to $50,000 per company on an individual basis; larger amounts are possible when the group invests as a syndicate. The firm targets pre-seed and seed-stage startups, with a conviction-based process that avoids lengthy due diligence.

The three co-founders are former senior Spotify executives who met during the company’s early hypergrowth years. Their professional network and operating experience are rooted in Spotify’s expansion era, but SpotiAngels has no formal affiliation with, or financial backing from, Spotify itself.

Deal flow originates primarily through the founders’ deep networks — Katia Yakovleva’s role at Foreword VC, Axel Bard Bringéus’s partnership at AreVentures and prior tenure at EQT Ventures, John Bonten’s operating relationships, and the broader SpotiAngels Syndicate of Spotify alumni.

The firm focuses on consumer technology, the creator economy, and the future of work. Within those domains, the thesis is founder-led — the principals back people they believe can execute, rather than narrowing investments to prescriptive subsectors.

There is no disclosed philanthropic foundation, real-asset arm, or operating business under the SpotiAngels name. The founders maintain separate professional entities — including Foreword VC and AreVentures — that operate independently from the collective.
