Supply Chain Angels

An investment committee that includes YCH Group's chairman Robert Yap and executive director Catherine Yap governs deployment decisions. The committee evaluates team execution capability, product, business model, and synergy with YCH's supply chain and logistics operations.

SCAngels is the wholly owned corporate venture arm of YCH Group, Asia Pacific's largest integrated end-to-end supply chain management provider. The fund was established to invest in startups whose technology can integrate with or enhance YCH's logistics network, and portfolio companies are encouraged to operate from YCH's Supply Chain City headquarters in Singapore.

SCAngels makes direct equity investments into individual startups, typically at pre-Series A and Series A stages. It also co-invests with SGInnovate, a Singapore government-backed deep-tech investor, under the nation's Research, Innovation & Enterprise 2020 Plan.

The firm focuses on supply chain and logistics technology, including IoT for asset tracking, warehouse and drone robotics, AI for autonomous vehicles, big data for automated decision-making, 3D printing for on-demand manufacturing, and supply chain fintech. It also has a mandate to back broader Singapore-based deep tech through its SGInnovate partnership.

SCAngels states a minimum initial investment of S$500,000 and a maximum of S$2 million into any single portfolio company, with a possible follow-on at Series B capped at a total of S$2 million invested over the life of the engagement.
